Duncan Johnson
Non-Executive Chairman, Suffolk Group Holdings – Trading as Vertas GroupDuncan started working with Suffolk County Council in 2009. He previously held senior/board level roles within the private sector at Sainsbury's, Kingfisher and Optical Express in addition to his public sector experience at Northumberland County Council, where he worked as the Director of Property and Facilities Management.
Duncan followed his public sector experience with a period where he was Managing Director within an architectural practice and completed his MBA in 2007.
Duncan is responsible for chairing the SGH (Vertas Group) main Board and representing the interests of its shareholder. He has over 25 years’ experience holding director roles in both the public and private sectors, and this has led to him developing a specialism in business and strategy development, performance management and service turnarounds in addition to contributing to national strategy panels on managing government estate assets
