Alex Lawrence

Alex specialises in commercial contracts, public procurement, subsidy control and governance matters for clients in the local government sector.  He has extensive experience as a solicitor, gained both in-house with a large local authority and in private practice, advising on a range of public sector service areas including waste and environment, highways, transport, leisure, adult social care and children’s social care.  He advises on the development and management of contracts as well as public procurement and subsidy control implications.  Alex’s governance work includes local government vires and decision-making as well as the set up and operation of new delivery models such as companies and limited liability partnerships.  He has established both Teckal compliant and commercial trading vehicles and is experienced at handling wholly owned and joint venture enterprises.
